1.35 Million Tons of Salt a Year, Irradiated Ice Melt … Meh

Fantastic article from the NYT.  Radioactive wastewater being used to keep our roads clear of ice and dust.  Great ideas that should have been implemented years ago, regardless of the gas drilling.  Although, Utah’s methods produces much prettier aerial views.

The brutal 50 minute confirmation hearing for PA’s new Secretary of ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION apparently went a little light on including demands for radiation testing, which was suggested yesterday by Senator Casey and the former Secretary of DEP.
